My name is Gabrielle Ziegler and I'm a local native of PG County. I am a product of Christian education, and I attended DuPont Park, G.E. Peters, and the one and only Takoma Academy! Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!  I have always had a passion with working with young people.

 

When I graduated from TA, I became the director of TA 101 program during the summers, while I was attending Andrews University pursing my English Degree with an emphasis in writing. After two summers, I helped start a Children's Defense Fund Freedom Schools Program as a Site Coordinator at Baltimore Junior Academy.  CDF Freedom Schools is a program designed to enhance children's motivation to read and make them feel good about learning. This is achieved by empowering youth to excel and believe in their ability to make a difference in themselves, their families, communities, country and world with hope, education and action.

Once I graduated from Andrews University,  I started teaching at Takoma Academy Preparatory School for two years, and last year I transitioned to teaching English at Takoma Academy for primarily  sophomores and seniors.

 

Outside of the classroom , I am BIG on traveling and exploring new things. I love to tell stories and share experiences I have had. I can not wait to get to know each one of you this school year!
